The first evening

I just couldn’t stop

I remember very well the day I first blew into this didgeridoo.

It was after a 4½-hour drive to Savoie, where I was teaching a workshop. Tired as I was, I played from 8:30 pm until past midnight, without noticing the time go by!

There’s something addictive about this instrument. Once you start playing it, you don’t want to put it down.

And that’s exactly what defines this signature didgeridoo.

Its story

A signature didgeridoo born from a real encounter

A few years ago, I was looking for a versatile, reliable and easy-to-carry didgeridoo to take to my workshops… I knew what I wanted, but I just couldn’t find it.

That’s when Chris (Christian Guéret, of Didg Element) let me try the instrument he had made to get close to the sound of Denra Dürr, a 2000s player who left a mark on all of us with the clarity of his drone.

After trying it, I suggested a few changes to get as close as possible to what I was looking for. Little did I know he would create such an exceptional didgeridoo.

The sound

A sound that surrounds you… and sings

Within the first few minutes, you can feel how balanced this didgeridoo is.

The drone is stable, warm, and above all… it sings. There’s this harmonic that comes out naturally in the drone. It makes for a living sound that fills the room and carries you.

And as a bonus, this harmonic is a real support for all your vocal work.

That’s exactly what has always fascinated me in Denra Dürr’s playing. I love it!

Day to day

Easy to carry

At 1.40 m, this didgeridoo stays compact. And that makes all the difference day to day.

  • It fits easily in a car
  • It travels stress-free by train or public transport
  • It handles naturally, without tiring you

Its weight is just right too: enough wood to support the harmonics and the depth of the sound, while staying comfortable to carry.

In workshops

Rare versatility for an E flat

In workshops, I have to switch from one technique to another to guide students according to their level and habits. And every time, this didgeridoo delivers.

Despite a fairly open bore (46 mm), it adapts to almost every modern technique. The sound stays stable and precise, never muddy.

You feel this versatility right away. No need to fight the instrument: it goes along with your playing, naturally.

E flat is a pivotal key, between the tension of E and the roundness of D… And here, you clearly get the best of both worlds.

The joy of playing

A didgeridoo that makes you want to play… and play again

With a 46 mm bore opening, this didgeridoo strikes a rare balance: wide enough for a full, enveloping sound, without going so far that the instrument would eat up too much air.

Excellent playability

Full without eating up your air: you can play for a long time without wearing yourself out.

A round, full sound

A warm, enveloping drone that fills the room.

Great rhythmic freedom

From meditative soundscapes to powerful, rhythmic grooves.

And I’m not the only one saying so: ask anyone who has tried it, many of us have felt the same thing.

In short

This signature didgeridoo is…

  • A singing, warm and enveloping sound
  • A rare balance between roundness and playability
  • An instrument that’s easy to carry
  • Impressive versatility
  • Real playing pleasure, immediate and lasting
